Vegan Labouraide Recipe
Still haven't given birth... am 41 weeks now as I write this!
My midwife suggested I make some labouraide to take with me for the birth to help with electrolytes, sugars, and staying hydrated while in labour.
I looked high and low for a completely vegan recipe, but I couldn't find one.
So with a couple of minor tweaks I was able to make my own vegan version of labouraide!
This is just a rough guide to quantities you can make up as little or as much as you like and, as I say in the video, I'm not a huge fan of coconut water that we get here in Aus (I love fresh coconuts in Bali and Mexico though) so I did a mix with water.
250ml coconut water
2 drops rescue remedy
2 Tbs coconut sugar (I use the Niulife syrup)
2 lemons juiced
Himalayan or celtic salt to taste
- Combine all ingredients in a pitcher.
- Freeze ready for you to take to the hospital / birth centre
There you go a super simple and easy recipe for you to have a natural hydration drink for while you are labouring.
