Get Your Skin Glowing (Part 2 of 3)

Welcome to part 2 of my Get Your Skin Glowing blog series.

If you haven't checked out my first three tips, you can access them here first -

Once you have checked them out, then you are ready to move onto my next lot of tips :)

4. Have A Natural Skin Care Regime

While you are working on the internal, it is good to work on the external as well.

But don’t go putting lots of toxic shit on your skin.

Your skin absorbs everything you put on it, and then this has to be filtered through your kidneys and digestive tract.

If you are trying to fix your gut health and microbiome, but slapping on loads of toxic ingredients on your skin, you are going to be fighting an uphill battle.

I like to use all natural products on my skin where possible.

My skin care regime is super basic, but it does the job.

I highly recommend Rawkanvas products as they are 100% vegan, cruelty free, the packaging is minimal waste, and they are a local, female run Aussie company.

My routine is:

  1. I use the Rawkanvas microfiber makeup remover first if I am wearing makeup. It works amazing AND as a bonus you can get a lot of uses out of it, unlike wet wipes. Also it isn’t as course as a wash cloth.
  2. Cleanse with their Purify face wash.
  3. Moisturise with Luna Vitality at night, or the Limelight during the day.
  4. Do a Luminosity Mask when I remember.

Seriously life changing.

5. Get Physical

Exercising, sweating and getting your lymphatic system moving are all important factors to having glowing skin.

If you are sitting down a lot of the day, and don’t really take the time to engage in physical activity, you are missing out on a huge range of benefits, not just to your waistline but also your skin!

You don’t have to do a lot, you just have to get moving.

Find a type of exercise you enjoy and make time in your schedule to make it happen. You don’t have to go to the gym, but you could join a dance class, take up surfing, do pole dancing, play a team sport, or even get out for a walk for at least thirty minutes each day.

Don’t feel like you have to do a lot from the get go, it’s more important to pick things that you will find easier to stick with and follow through with them.

Bonus points if you get sweaty. You might be red faced while you are working out and hot, but afterwards you will glow!

Plus, as an added bonus, exercise also releases feel good hormones like oxytocin which also help you glow.

6. Get Enough Sleep

Getting sleep can be tough, especially if you have young children.

Find a way to prioritise sleep as much as you can, even if you can’t get the optimal amount.

Turning screens off early, and having some wind down time is great for getting your brain primed ready for a deep and rejuvenating sleep.

Also making sure your last meal of the day was far enough away from your bedtime so that you can quickly get into rest mode.

If you know that you are spending excess time on social media or watching TV then cut that habit! Record TV shows that you enjoy and watch them on the weekend, and have a designated bed time each night that you stick with… no excuses!

If you are sleeping less hours than you know you should be, find a time to do a short meditation during the day.

I prefer either as a part of my morning routine, or as a part of my evening routine.

This will help you feel more rejuvenated and refreshed without having to get extra sleep.
